Green was born in Paris, France, two minutes sooner than her harmonious twin sister, Joy (Johanne). She is the young lady of Marlène Jobert, an on-screen character, and Walter Green, a dental specialist. Her father is of Swedish and French dive, and through him she is the staggering granddaughter of the French arranger Paul Le Flem. Her mother, a pied-noir, was conceived in Algeria (in the midst of that time, Algeria was a bit of France), later moving to France. Green is Jewish, as is her mother. Be that as it may, she was raised without religion; she has said "I feel like an inhabitant of the world. Life and film don't have fringes." Green has portrayed her family as "middle class", and has said that her sister is out and out not quite the same as her.
